How can i deal with my insanely difficult mother?
i know that i should be understanding about my mother, and try to always be nice and happy around her but most of the time, i just cant stand her. she tells me all the time that i’m not being respectful to her but that is mostly because i feel like respect is something your earn from someone and she has never earned my respect. shes says that i have to respect her because she is my mother but i absolutely cant stand her. she is a control freak, but to the extreme. if something doesn’t go her way she freaks out. if you dont do EVERY SINGLE THING to her standards she will yell and scream and it looks like shes having a mental breakdown. she wont let me drive with music on because she thinks it will distract me and i will get into an accident but the truth is, i cant focus without music on. she wont let me watch the movie Mamma Mia because the mom had sex with 3 different guys when she was younger. i cant watch the notebook either and she is constantly telling me that she regrets letting me watch my favorite tv show gilmore girls, and also the rugrats when i was younger. that seems a little intense, they are just movies. she also censors my music. i cant listen to flo rida, lady gaga, 3oh!3, fall out boy etc. she does the same things with my friends. they all have to meet her before i can hang out with them and im not allowed to hang out with just a guy. even if we arent dating. oh also, im not allowed to date. i’m almost 17. she didnt let me get my permant until a couple of weeks ago. thats insane right? im almost 17 i should already have my license! she starts fights about every thing. no matter what it is. it feels like she wants to fight and argue about everything until i believe everything she does but i dont. we fight all the time and its usually because she realizes that she was wrong abotu something earlier and wants to prove her point and when i say something like "well you never told me to do this" she will say some crap like "yes i did, you just never ever listen to me. why cant you just do everything i ask you to? why do you fihgt baout everything? why are you such a difficult child?" and then starts crying saying i dont appreciate her and understand her and i’m so mean to her completely ignoring what we were originally talking about. she always told me that if i was upset or something to avoid a fight i should just go to my room or if i cant just ask to be left a lone, but whenever i ask her to leave me a lone or i try to go to my room she acts like shes a 8 year old boy and starts whining saying "well why dont you leave me a lone! i wanna be left a lone! how come its all about you?" or she will follow me into my room saying "leave me a lone" or she will say "you cant just say that everytime we are fighting" but i think i should because it avoids us screaming at eachother for hours. the other really annoying thing she does is act really immature abotu everything. if we are fighting she will start mimicking me and whining like a baby. i honestly think that having her around is like having 10 little brothers. she loves my sister more then anything and, though she deny’s it, is always comparing me to her. my parents are divorced (go figure) so i really have no one to talk to about this because my sister doesnt believe my mom is crazy since she is only crazy with me. what am i supposed to do? i feel like if something doenst change i might go crazy!

I think your mom LOVES you very, very much. She isn’t perfect. She makes mistakes. She doesn’t always respond the "right" way. However, I think if you look at the very root of all this, it seems that in her heart she loves you very much and wants so much for you in life. You may not see this right now. However, when you’re 25, married and have a child or two of your own – you are going to realize so much how your mother loves/loved you.

A lot of those things that you listed as "not right" i.e. the television shows, the movies, the music, the friends – those are all things that, if you WANT to, you will find someone out there (usually peers) who agree with you and think your mom is crazy. You may even find an adult or two who thinks she’s crazy. However, there are things about those TV shows, movies, music, and even friends, that are not beneficial to your success and future as a whole. Have you ever heard of "garbage in- garbage out?" Whatever goes into your brain is what comes out. If you see promiscuity, foolishness, disrespectfulness, etc., that’s what’s going to come out. Or, at the very least, you’re going to think is "normal."

I think your mom could work on how she goes about things. Yes, that is true. However, try to cut her a little slack. Especially if you are the oldest, she is learning how to deal w/ a teenager for the first time in her life. She will surely have some regrets – as will you. However, remember the BOTTOM LINE – and that is she loves you very much.

I found a good book recently you might want to try to read. It’s called "Do Hard Things." It’s a book by teens and for teens. I’m hoping to get my oldest son to read it.

Family therapy would help. It would teach her how to relate to you more reasonably.

Now, if you say, "You’re a control freak so we need family therapy," she won’t want to do family therapy. To get her to agree to it, you need to say, "Mom, I think I have trouble understanding you sometimes, and I’d learn to respect you better if we went to family therapy."

There are two options. You can go for the more natural option, with bronze or browns for eyeshadow with brown mascara, pale lipstick/lipgloss and black eyeliner, which will enhance the colour of your eyes without out-doing it, or you can go for a more wilder, colourful look by putting a paler shade of your dress and belt colour, with black mascara, black eyeliner and dark or pale lipstick/lipgloss.

It depends on what you’re more comfortably with, or what look you think suits you better.

Go with the aquamarine shadows. Keep the liners ( If you want the purple/magenta-use it in the nails, lips or something-but do eyes in the aquamarine ) Use a black liner, (If you’ve got brown lashes, use brown black. Also do some extra in the brow area.

To do your shadows, use a very light base on the eyes first. White, beige or even really light aqua. Then do the aqua color next to the eyeliner. Use the darkest mascara you can to match your natural lashes.

Do not clash you colors. Since aqua is a ‘cool’ color use a cool color in the blush & lips. I’d go with a medium rose color for both – it will compliment the magenta in the belt.

Highlighting is probably the most important thing to make your pictures look great. Do a dot of white above the outer edge of the eyes, at the center of the forehead & a little tiny dab at the cupids bow of the lips. Now,smudge it in. You might want to dust a little powder over this to keep the look & soften it. ( You can use transparent if you don’t want color.)

I like it I really do.

Two things you need to keep in mind though!

You will have to bleach your hair first. This can take alot out of your hair so be careful. It can get dry and crispy and quite funny looking. It may turn orange before it comes out a cleaner shade of blonde. Also it doesn’t need to be bleach blonde for it to take color- a darker shade may hold the color better

Temporary color may be the best- you may wish to change the color or play with it. Semi permanent stays in longer than you would expect it to. I hade ’semi’ permanent hot pink in my hair for almost four months!! I loved it though.

It’s a bitch to color your hair an unnatural color, especially if your hair is dark like yours or mine was.

You have to bleach it if you really want the true color. And you have to keep up with it. No going back.

It damages your hair terribly. And you can never get your natural color back exactly to the way it was.

He co-starred in one of the biggest disasters of all time, Heaven’s Gate. I don’t think people seen it to make the $40 million it took to make it in 1980, and it’s almost 30 years later. He’s been in a few other turkeys, as well, but Heaven’s Gate is the movie he’s made that hasn’t even come close to making its money back. It’s the reason United Artists was bought by MGM in 1980. He was in a movie that literally bankrupted a movie studio. Not good on the resume, if you get my drift.
