Ear Problems and No Relief. Help!!?
Since May 2009 I have had a lot of ear problems. It began with ear stuffiness and pressure and then developed into pain. My doctor prescribed me antibiotics the first several times until she concluded it must be allergy related. At that point she put me on Allegra (180 mg).
The Allegra helped at first, however over time it has lost it’s "effectiveness". After going back to my Dr. several times for the same complaints she referred me to an ENT on 11/02/09. All the tests (hearing, eardrum pressure) came back fine and my hearing is intact. The ENT states that my ears look fine even when I’m having pain/pressure.
On 11/16/09 I underwent allergy testing and it was concluded that I am allergic to several types of trees, grass, cats and a ton of weeds (I live in Florida btw). I had to be off my Allegra for 7 days prior to the allergy test and have since started on it again effective 11/17/09. I have been taking Nasonex as well, sometimes taking Afrin too, but still NO RELIEF.
My ear pain/pressure is once again back and mostly limited to my left ear. I am getting no relief and this is beginning to wear on my psyche. I’m so tired of feeling this way it makes me cry!
I have researched on the internet trying to find a solution to my medical problem: a better medicine, perhaps another diagnosis (TMJ?). Is there anyone out there that has experienced something similar that can help??
I called my doctor today and told them of my symptoms. I have an appointment for Monday just in case my ears are still bad, but they are hoping the Allegra will begin to take effect in the meantime.
Please someone help!
sometime you have to give the medicine time to work like 6 months or more before the body responds to it also try a Little peroxide use a cotton swab and dip it in the peroxide and squeeze it in your ear good luck
